I duct taped tooth picks to my Snails.. they use them to fend off the Hermits..
However the hermits have adapted to doing drive bys on the snails cribs .
Its a mess in there..
This One hermit that I thought died and I laughed at him for dying. Actull, hey molted then he came back few days...

Any new fish should be QTed for atleast 3-4 weeks. I will help save any other fish getting the disease that a new fish may have .

Well your water is not clean and unclean water can be bad.. I will let some one else answer the specifics on why it is bad. But the obvious answer is there..
Go out and buy one more PH .. Cant hurt. Besides if it is breaking the surface it will also help on Oxygen exchange etc.
