Hello,, I have 2 male gouramis in a community fish tank with some guppies and algae eater.... 1 of them hides at the bottom of the tank behind a plant in the corner...it won't come out to eat at feeding time..and sometimes i think it's dead or asleep..it has been acting like this for a week...

i have read that platy fish need a little salt.... and guppys are happier and breed more with salt and healthier than without it... i have read that algae eaters don't really like it i have read that angels do not really like it and i know for a fact they breed like hell with out it so...

i would probably set up a moonlight like some people have with the blue led lights( i have a bright 40 watt black light).. at night you might see it in action with this dark type of light because they hide more in the day... i definitely see a difference in nocturnal behavior from day time...

as a matter of fact i think it was a month or two after she died and then the male just died for no apparent reason?? that was the last time i messed with aquariums until now,16 years later .. my wife went out and suprised me yesterday with 2 young veil angels..i had to put my 7 young bubble...

i had a platy that was very territorial against other platys..male female it did not matter... the platys that came with it never grew and eventually died because she would nip and chase them if they ate anything..even if it ate the scraps laying in the plants and rockss... we named her...
