Do male gouramis get tubercles on their gill covers? When one of my fancy goldfishs' first had them coming in, I thought it was ich, but turned out just to be that trait.

Yea, fluorite is a pain. If I get too much cloudiness after a fill, I just do a few big water changes until it gets to a satisfactory level of clarity. It'll settle eventually.
