I've for a 40 gal breeder with 13 little fish. Power is out and I have to go to work for 8 hrs. I had to unplug filter because it doesn't always reprime on its own and don't want if to burn up of power comes on when I'm at work.....will my fish be ok?!

It's a 40 gal with 14 small community fish.

I've been reading conflicting information and getting the same from lfs. Can bristle nose plecos be kept individually, or should they be kept in pairs?

Hi everyone....I added some new fish to the 40 gal breeder tank today! 2 sunset wag platys, and 8 lambchop rasboras. The rasboras are bueatiful....I went in wanting harlequins but these are soo much more vibrant. Wondering if anyone has any experience with them?

With only 4 little danios in there now, how many fish can I add at once w/o a lot of problems? I understand there will be water changes, and testing while the biofilter adapts....but is there a ratio to keep in mind?

Well, been looking at web, and in some of our books, and right now we are considering swordtails, platies, dwarf gouramis, or corys. What do you think?

I do plan on getting more danios, but would like another kind too.

Hey everyone.....looking for ideas for new tankmates. I'm new to fish keeping so they must be hearty tolerant forgiving fish. I currently have zebra danios, 4 of them, in a 40 gal tank. Suggestions?

Hi everyone I have recently lost 2 danios in a weeks time. I had 6 of them in a 40 gal tank. The tank isn't completely cycled, but w/c are done often, and water perameters are always good. Been up and running since late May early June. The thing is, these 2 fish were wasting away to nothing...

I've been doing a fish in cycle for months now. I think it was started May/June. I keep up with water changes, and check water perameters often. My question is this, if there is no biofilter at all in a tank, 40 gallon, how long would it take for 6 zebra danios to raise ammo levels, and how high...

Couldn't find #6 this morning, tore the tank apart and found him inside one of the caves. He didn't make it through the night. So far the other 5 seem ok.....little stressed from me rummaging through the tank looking for #6, but hopefully will be all right.

Now he swam into one of my caves and is lying on the ground. How do you know when Tp be humane and remove a find from his suffering?

Hi all, I have 6 zebra Danios in a 40 gal tank. Tank has been up a few months now. Water perameters are ok. There is slight ammonia, less than .25 but more than 0. Nitrites 0. Nitrates 10. Did a 35-40% wc yesterday. I have on fish that for the last 3 days has been hovering below a plant and...

I've got a 40 gal tank with 6 zebra danios. I haven't changed any filter media or anything like that. Will it help if I add more of the ceramic media? I am running an aquaclear 70 filter.

hi bubble boy....I haven't used salt since my last post, mid July, and have done several 50% pwc.....the salt should be pretty much gone I think. I didn't know salt could affect the cycle....hopefully it is started over and is on its way again.
