What's on my pipe organ coral?

Thanks for the response! That makes sense, is there anything I can do about it? It's taking over the coral :/.

What's on my pipe organ coral?

Another picture - I swear whatever this is is growing in front of me. You can see here some white polyp-like protrusions; don't know if you can see this, but the protrusions each have one small bundle of thin, short, hair-like tentacles.

What's on my pipe organ coral?

I have had this coral frag for about two months now. It has been doing well, growing new polyps, open all day, etc. Yesterday I noticed some string white things among the polyps, but couldn't get a good look since they were open. This morning the coral has not opened yet, but you can see quite a...

    Clam quarantine?

In all his glory. Think he's a good 4" across.

    Clam quarantine?

Haha! Will try to get a pic for you if he opens - not sure he's gonna be much of a looker though; would have loved a maxima but didn't feel like that was a great starter clam ;).

    Clam quarantine?

Thanks to both of you. I pried a total of four aiptasia off, seemed to come off easily in one piece, and scrubbed the shell underneath. Hopefully that does it.

    Clam quarantine?

I just got a new Derasa clam in the mail this morning, 3-4" long. I have the bag floating in my dt, and did not intend to quarantine it since I've read they are difficult to keep alive in qt. However, on inspecting it through the bag I can easily see an aiptasia - haven't taken a closer look yet...

    Aiptasia???

Great, thanks! I think with the location crazy glue might work well - I'll give it a go.

    Aiptasia???

I think I might be having my first experience with aiptasia :(. It is attached to the skeleton of a meat coral, just at the sand line (coral is on the bottom). I have had this coral about 6 weeks, and just this morning happened to walk by and see this little bugger sticking out of the sand. It...

Yeah, I think you're right. Better safe than sorry. Thanks for all your help, appreciate the time!

    Qt deaths

Wow, that sounds great. I may try them in the future - definitely looking for good sources after my experiences with some other places. The LFS here is super pricey and kind of shady. Has anyone used bluezooaquatics? LA is out of stock on Kole tangs. And I suppose all I can do at this point...

    Qt deaths

Yeah, they've been pretty great any time I've dealt with them. 14 day guarantee on livestock, even CUC and inverts, and 30 day on captive grown coral. Just wish their free shipping order size was a little lower. I'm still fighting with another site to honor their warranty for a DOA coral - I may...

    Qt deaths

Just a quick update, in case anyone is considering dealing with live aquaria - they responded to my claim within a few hours and issued a refund, no questions asked. Still don't know why the fish died though. Thank you again for the effort and assistance.

    Qt deaths

The equipment was the same all the way through, and was the same equipment used when the fish in the dt went through quarantine. The dt fish and qt fish were eating the same foods. I don't have a powerhead in the qt, but the internal filter creates a bit of a current at the surface, I would have...
