i went from an ancint tetra whisper(?) over the top pump to the canister. so its an all new pump and filters and all... i rinsed and dried every thing, sprayed my diluted vineagar cleaner on the pump rinsed it dried it then installed it... i suppose i should have said the water conditions seem...

oh also i did a water change and installed a new canister filtration system the night before... however if it had anything to do w it i expect the other fish would have been affected as well right?

Sunday morning i was admiring my fish as always.. i gave them the normal amount of frozen food (thawed)... 5 mins or less later i notice my dwarf flame is acting weird.. kept comin to the surface for oxygen... i checked that all the circulation systems were working and they were fine... 10 mins...

so since i only have a FOWLR tank it shouldnt be a problem? or should i consider getting rid of it?

My daughter yesterday found a baby starfish in our 20gal nano. I am slightly boggled about it because the last change i made to the tank was adding some DR to the tank about a month ago... other than that i put some LR in about a month - two months ago. We are very excited about this find but...

I bought some LR a few days ago from the LFS and last night my daughter noticed something on one that looks like a lil baby anemone. at first i thought it was a baby tube but realized ts on a rock not in the sand, and also its got lil balls on its tentacles... From what ive found online i think...

nevermind.... i figured it out... the fish are fine.. its the fact that the tank does not yet have its own light source so the florescent lights in my kitchen light the tank.... well on the kitchen side of the tank (its on my bar) the fish are bright and beautiful.... but from the dinning room...

also the "zebra seems fine other than it just hangs out under the waterfall from the filter... heres a pic of the yellowtails.... phone doesnt take good moving pics sorry....

recently put 2 yellowtail damsels and a "zebra" damsel in my new tank to get the cycle going... what im having an issue with is my 2 blue damsels keep changing color. they were originally bright blue w a slight purple hue and brilliant yellow tails... the first night i had them i seen that they...

thanks everyone. after finding some more info and help from here ive decided itll just be easier to buy it from the lfs. its only about $1.50 a gal. and much easier and less time consuming for me. again thanks for the input abd be sure ill b around to ask more questions.
