Need some advice on my crazy tank

This isn't really a question about my filter. My filter is fine. I've had it for years and its never filled up like this. If someone could offer me advice on my original post that'd be great.

Need some advice on my crazy tank

To start off I have a 20 gallon high tank. One larger piece of driftwood in the middle. A bit of water sprite. Sand bottom. 5 panda corys. Roughly 100 cherry shrimp. Unknown number, but definitely over 10, snails of some sort (small). Basically I started this tank as a casual tank that...

I have an update and a problem. In my 20 high I have 6 corys, 2 otos, 6 neon tetras, 2 red cherry shrimp. Everyone has gotten along fine for a while, why wouldn't they, they are all peaceful, my parameters rock. The shrimp have even spawned a few babies already. Couple days ago the neon...

Hello all! I am starting a 20 gallon! Questions!

I switched a tack from gravel to sand two weeks ago, also moved it to different room. I kept filter wet and reused about 3 gallons of dirty a$$ water. I even scrubbed tank clean of algae. Tested water two days after it was running again and it was perfect. Added fish next day. All doing well...

    Moving

Yeah a 5 gallon drum or two should be enough for all the gravel, you'd be surprised how much fits in one drum. But then have a separate one for just water, fish, and plants. Moving really is easier than it seems. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

I'm back to considering apistos. Who cares if they are $15 a piece. But I do have a question no one answered yet, some websites suggest if you just have a pair then the male may pick on the female. They suggest that you have one male and 2-4 females. Is this absolutely necessary?

    Moving

I personally prefer nothing in tank while move. No water or gravel. Its just so much weight and scares me. When I moved I had two 5 gal buckets, one with wet gravel, and one with fish and as much water as possible. If you can somehow try to keep filter somewhat wet too. But I wouldn't mess...

    New tank question...

Yeah I wouldn't worry about hiding. If your water is fine and thy aren't getting in fights with other fish, which they obviously aren't in your situation, then I wouldn't worry about it. Fish get shy and they will come around. Sometimes they get freaked about by us glaring at them from the other...

I'm in GR so an hour away from lansing. If you ever are on the west side of the state you should stop in bluefish aquarium. It's also amazing. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice
