I have a 110 gallon tank. I just want to put some goldfish in it with decorations :) no live plants or anything. What type of filtration and water change schedule might be needed for this?
This question is general for all types of coral.
Does red and green light have any effect on growth? Or does it only help see coral color better. I currently have two taotronics leds over my tank but they only have blues and whites and the only color that pops in the tank is green...everything...
To clarify the question a little i guess.... If i use water from an established tank to fill a new tank, does it still need to cycle before adding life? My fish and coral will not survive long in a smaller side tank while the new one cycles so i need to get it running quickly
I Have a 110 tall tank i want to replace with a 180 in the same location. I obviously needed to setup a holding tank for the life while i drain and move the 110. How can i quickly cycle the new tank so i can put all the life back in? Will using must of the water and rocks from the old tank help...
The red dots spreading around the rock. Its hard to the touch and I tried to suck it out with a turkey baster like people do for red slime and it doesn't budge. I can't even really scrape it with a fingernail. Is there red Coraline that looks like this that it could be? Or anything other than...

I think whoever was saying some are for growth and others are for color were talking about making your own lights out of individual leds...and even then its not entirely true.

Here's my tank! Its a 110 gallon tall tank that I got from craigslist awhile ago. They didn't take care of it well and after I moved it home I noticed it had about 2 inches of detritus and gunk in the sump..so after cleaning it out and a few equipment upgrades I still get lots of green algae on...
