Yeah....powerheads are great additions...more water flow the better!

I wouldn't put a top on if i were u....salt just builds up on it and it restricts light from ur aqauarium. Gas exchange is also better without a top..... As long as ur lights cover at least 70% of the top....you're FINE! :D

Yeah....as soon as ur ammonia and crud are 0 then u are good 2 go. A really good thing to put in ur substrate is a SAND-SIFTING STARFISH. The are about 15 bucks and literally move around underground in ur substrate and clean, clean, clean!!! :D

Sure is algae.....if ur feedin frozen food...make sure u thaw and drain it!!!

what are ur ammonia, nitrate, nitrite if those are high....u probably will get algae!
