my platys gravid spot never went black and thats what fooled me and she ended up having her fry in the community tank....i managed to save 2 fry from my hungry fish lol
yeah mine do that most of the time too. Just think, if they werent eating then they wouldnt be alive right now lol positive way to think of it. They are "in-the-closet" eaters lol
I have tiger barbs and yes they do better in groups of 5+. Or else they might start to pester your other fish. When in big groups they play with each other and chase each other around and dont bother anyone else. They only fish that you shouldnt have with tiger barbs are fish with long flowy...
She only leaves that spot when the male chases her or when im feeding them. Other than that, she runs back behind the filter and hides and looks like she quivering. And is always nose down. Im starting to think that shes scared and hiding from the male.
my bala sharks do that too....but will eat the food i feed too...not as quick to get it as the tiger barbs but eventually grab something..r u using flakes or pellets??
yeah she is fine when its feeding time or when she is being chased around by the male TB. Sometimes she floats completely vertical in that same area or directly behind the filter. Shes a weird one...I already have 3 sunset platies, 2 bala sharks, 2 painted tetras (pink and blue), 2 TB, 1 green...
Females even get bullied by males? I only have one male and 2 females. Im not going to get any more tiger barbs cause Im hopeing for them to die off. Kind of harsh but not like I'm not letting them live out their lives. I want to get some angel fish but cant till the tiger barbs are gone lol...
well I have a 20 gallon tank and have 3 sunset platys, 2 bala sharks, 2 tiger barbs, 1 green tiger barb, 2 plecos (one small and one large), 2 painted tetras (pink and blue), 2 frys that my platy had :D and 3 african frogs :D...My tank seems perfect with those fish and it isnt...
