Update: I was finally able to upgrade by boys tank to a 3.5 gallon and he seems so much happier. I was fighting with fin rot and finally got it cured and his fins are growing back out! Yay

My boyfriends grandma was saying that my filter may not be working but it runs and the water flows through the top, like a small waterfall.

All I have in it is rocks and a skull for him to hide in. I have been changing the water every week to see if it would help with his fin rot, and he currently doesn’t have any dead ends anymore and they look like they’re starting to grow back. But I noticed it started to look like slime two...

Can anyone tell me what this is in the water??

I wanna move him to a 5 gallon but I don’t have the money to do so right now.

I have him in a 1 gallon tank and I do a 25% water change every week and a full water change every three weeks. I don’t have anything to check the water. He’s still just as active and his appetite hasn’t changed since I got him.

My beta has fin rot pretty bad. I’ve treated it once with the betta fix and it seemed to have stopped it for a little while, but then about two days ago I noticed it had gotten even worse! I don’t know what to do.

I just got a beta almost two weeks ago as my very first fish. I currently have him in a 1 gallon aquarium. What's the best way to care for one?
