if your worried about the barbs nipping, what about a school of Corys? I love those little guys. They live on the bottom, but love to swim every where. I have 6 corys, 8 neons tetra, 5 guppies and an albino bristle nose pleco in my 29 g tank.

I let my girls name them. The youngest named the guppies. Lenny, Tuck, Ming Ming, Jr and Poke a Dots. Sucker is our albino bristle nose. And they have Fred, the beta. I think some of the corys are also named. Like Sam, Carley and some names from iCarley.

I have 2 albino, 2 green and 2 peppered corys. they are great little fish.

I do give Sucker the wafers, but the Corys love them. They all get blanched peas (put them in water, nuke for about a min) and cucumber. They love the peas and are starting to like the cucumber. I shell and mush up the peas, but leave the skin on the cucumber medallions.

I found mine easy to make. I went to a craft store and got nylon thread and then some Plastic Canvas. The plastic canvas was about $0.50 each. Then I just stitched up 3 sides, put the moss in and then did the last side. It was really easy to do.

The bettas idea sound cool. I made a java moss wall. You could put that against the divider on both sides and it would help hide the other side.

I put a little water and cucumber or peas in a bowl for about a min and then the cucumber I slide under the driftwood. That keeps it down. They did not eat it much the first time, but I do it about once a week and they eat more each time.

Sucker is albino and she hides some times. But she is out a lot. I got her some of the wafers, but everyone else seems to like them better. And she loves cucumbers, too.

I feed everyone peas this morning. The shrimp were fighting over it and were turning green when they were eating. It was crazy.
