    Another "My First Tank" Post

Wow, that's a fairly impressive shot. Good luck with your tank. It must be very fun to look at.

    Cory Cat Problem?

I use soft pebbles without rough edges too. I purposely bought the corys at my local Petco that had their barbels missing or shortened. After about two to three weeks they had grown back with clean water, soft substrate and access to food. My only concern with your situation is that the water...

My COry DIed, SHould I get more

Cory cats are the best. Sure they like to run around in a group, but if you’re still working out the kinks with cycling I would wait and not rush it. Once the tank is cycled and all the occupants are happy and healthy, you could consider getting the 2 some friends.

Divided Betta Project (Progress Pics + Advice Welcome)

Thank you. I thought that was the case. I prefer the method of cycling before fish. But then there's also differing opinions when it comes to tiny tanks and the fish that go in them.

Divided Betta Project (Progress Pics + Advice Welcome)

That has the potential to be really awesome looking. I'm sure this has been covered many times before, but do you have to cycle a betta tank? I'm thinking about starting my own, maybe in a 5 gal, or a 10 gal with bottom feeders.

    pH Problem/Question

I'd have to agree with HUKIT, if you add chemicals you'll have to do it every single time. You'll have to remember how much every time. Some fish don't mind odd pH. But some are very sensitive.

Do you quarentine the clean up crew?

I found this article to be very informative in regard to this question I had myself. http://www.aquariumadvice.com/articles/articles/35/1/The-Freshwater-Quarantine-Tank/Page1.html

    Substrate change

I always wondered that myself, if you change out your current substrate, will the filter bacteria and decor bacteria be enough? Enough that your tank will not start another cycle?

    About to give up

Please don't. Before you resort to that... Might I recommend that instead you consider trying a little bottle of Nutrafin "cycle" 120 mL (4 fl oz). It might give your system a jump start. It's worth a shot and it doesn't require tetras breathing ammonia for weeks on end. You don't even have to...

Re-doing a 30 gal. with live fish in it. Questions !!!

I would not recommend purchasing algae eaters, personally. Some make more waste than clean up, and some get way too huge for normal tanks. The de-chlorinator, they mentioned, needs to be used every-time you take tap water, and put it in your tank. It gets some of the bad stuff that's harmful...

Absolutely adore this tank. I hope to see more photos in the future, including the added plants and plant growth. Thanks for sharing!

Wal mart fish lol read this

Wow I didn't know Walmart still sold live fish. I had hoped that their poor quality and terrible standards would have made them just do away with the section. Once I realized how deplorable their treatment and selection (not to mention the short life span of animals purchased from there) I...
