    Dedicated Water Change Plumbing

Yeah I knew I would have to make sure my waste valve was closed to keep the chance of sewer smell coming in. I guess my thought was...would draining water from a different source right after the P trap cause a suction that would empty any existing water sitting in the trap Sent from my SM-G900V...

    DIY Water Change System

Looks very similar to what I was asking about. On your valve system, the single valve goes outside, then on the other side, one goes to the tank and one goes to the reservoir, correct? Instead of the pump, reservoir, and ball primer, I was hoping to let the water pressure from my house...

This would be done with PVC, with a horizontal orientation. Also, if I am tapping into my sink drain for all the waste water, would it hurt me to do it on the sewer side of the P Trap?

Thanks! I bought it when I was 16, and have had it for 11 years now. Currently has a 347/C4 combo with a 150 shot on it. I have dedicated a lot less money to it since I got married, bought a house, and had a little one, but I am currently swapping it over to 5 lug. What did you have?

    Dedicated Water Change Plumbing

This thread (http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f20/water-change-made-easy-344905.html) started my brain wheels turning about a way to make water changes/cleaning of my built in aquarium in my master bedroom easier. Currently, I am running about 50-75 ft of hose from my kitchen sink to the...

My first attempt and anything DIY for my Aquarium

Making this has been a blast. But there has been a LOT of learning involved. Due to the size of this (27w x 17h x 11.5d) the buoyancy has been far greater than I anticipated. I have hallowed out the bottom 3" and have been filling it in with concrete in stages, to see how much weight I need to...

    Water change made easy

This is awesome and has given me an idea. I have a 75 gallon FW built in aquarium in the master bedroom. Previous owners installed it, and I like it, but the master bathroom fixtures arent geared towards hooking up aquarium equipment for water changes, so I am running 75 ft of syphon hose from...

My first attempt and anything DIY for my Aquarium

Looks like concrete is about 150lbs/ft3. I am going to say it would definitely be beneficial

My first attempt and anything DIY for my Aquarium

That's what I found too. So with the volume of my structure being ~1ft3, it would need to weigh 64 lbs to sink, or at least be neutral. So by hollowing out unnecessary styrofoam on the bottom, I would reduce volume, thus require less weight, correct? I was also going to fill the space that I...

    Water change made easy

Great project. I would love to hear more details. Are these pretty much just dedicated water lines that you run a line from to your tanks to replace water? Then the clear hose is your return?

My first attempt and anything DIY for my Aquarium

*Update I am currently at work, but have rough dimensions of my structure, and estimate it to be ~1 cubic foot of styrofoam. Which from what I have looked up is that I will need 64 lbs to make it sink. The volume of the structure does not include the areas that are hollowed out for the caves...
