Thanks again everyone for your help but unfortunately he didn't make it.. Day late and a dollar short on my part treating him.. Now I have a much better idea what to do in the future. Thanks for all the info!
The only tank mate he had was a female King Kamfa FH a little more than half his size. I always keep them divided because they are so aggressive but I put them together when she dropped eggs so he could fertilize. When I come home from work he had a very small tear in bottom lip (no big deal I...
My male Flowerhorn was banged up by the female during mating and he has a terrible mouth fungus from the wound. It happened about 2 weeks ago and I treated with API fungus cure and Triple sulfa ( both pro series) and the fungus isn't fully gone. He looks terrible.. Hasn't eaten in about 2 weeks...
Thanks! Unfortunatly she ate the eggs.. No big deal, I've done some research and this behavior is common with first timers..lol.. The important thing is that they get along(so far) and they made the attempt. They should try again in a few weeks. See what happens!

Has anyone had any luck breeding flowerhorns? I just picked up a male red dragon about 9" and a female King kamfa about 7". They don't seem to get along so I put a divider in the tank. Has anybody bred them this way successfully?
Thanks! Got them from a breeder in RI, I'd really like a male for my 125 gal. tank so I picked out 2 of them figuring I'd have a 50/50 shot.. Just don't know what I have??
Try filling the canister with water about 3/4 of the way ( siphon right out of tank) then seal the filter up and give it a few pumps. As long as you have the hoses as strait as possible it should prime. Let me know if this works. Good luck!
I purchased them as blue acaras and from looking on the Internet they seem to look more like acaras than terrors. I like the acaras because they are less agressive. Thanks for the input.
