Had no idea the membership was recurring. I see the message that I need to cancel it to prevent debits to my checking account, but cannot see how to cancel.
Some people do. I never did when they were in an aquarium indoors. Mine are now in a pond, and I didn't feed every day during the summer because the ecosystem supported by a pond produces food for them.
Take a look at the photo of my male calico ryukin, Gypsy, in this thread before I moved him out to the pond.
I treated with prazi and about a month later, my bog filter was ready on my pond, so I moved him and Blondie out there.
No more problems with bouyancy - or as I call it in Gypsy's case...
Goldfish don't get pregnant. The pair spawns and the female scatters fertilized eggs in the water.
Yes, if you mix different types of goldfish together, they will spawn. That's one good reason not to do it. Another is that if you have the more streamlined commons or comets, a male can kill a...
They would be fine in a 55 gallon over the winter. Having said that, cycling a new tank with goldfish is sometimes more challenging than with other fish, due to the bioload of thick bodied goldfish.
If they are going into an uncycled tank, you need to stay on top of your water chemistry. Do...
One of the things I'd do immediately is add more filtration. Although a 50 gph filter is fine on a 40B with tropical fish, it's not enough filtration for goldfish (and when all is said and done is not really filtering at max capacity). The tank needs to be filtered at 10 X tank capacity.
There's a very good article about understanding color in goldfish, here.
I found it when I was researching if the gel food I'm feeding my pond goldfish could change the white color in my male calico ryukin.
If you are doing a 50% water change once or twice a day, I wonder how you can have .25 on ammonia and 20 on nitrates. Often tap water will have .25 ppm ammonia, but not nitrates.
Have you tested your tap water? And are you using a liquid test kit or test strips. Test strips are frequently...
No the Prazi won't hurt. If you have canned or frozen green beans or spinach, try one or the other of those. For canned I usually rinse real well, and stick a bit of rinsed in the fridge for tomorrow, and eat the rest for my own supper.
Both of those veggies have a laxative effect. For...
