Black Molly is hiding from me!!

As long as you acclimate the fish to your water parameters properly, it should be okay. I have very hard water and my gourami is fine.... I just drip acclimated him for about 2 hours. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Black Molly is hiding from me!!

Hornwort can just be floating for cover. .. no need to plant it. It can grow in pretty much any light with no help. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Black Molly is hiding from me!!

You could try a dwarf gourami. They are very particular about water parameters in my experience, so you would have to make sure you keep up with consistent water changes. Also, they really like to have some floating plant cover to hide in. Hornwort is pretty inexpensive and undemanding. Sent...

    Help!

Looks like you are still cycling then. Keep up with the water changes to keep that ammonia lower than 0.5ppm, and same for nitrites if you get a reading. In a tank with only one betta you may not get nitrite readings since the bacteria is converting it quickly enough as it's a small bioload...

Black Molly is hiding from me!!

Do you know your water pH and hardness? Gourami can be very particular. I can't tell from the pictures of your molly unfortunately. I would need a side shot of her exposed. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

    Is my cycle stuck?

Nitrite should be 0. I wouldn't add fish if you still are getting a nitrite reading. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

New cycle, Nitrite level help needed (picture opinion)

Depending on the tank size, water pH, and water temperature, it could take months. Didn't read it, personal experience. Also, if there is no ammonia present in the tank, the nitrification process is slowed down since the first stage of bacteria are not processing anything. Again, just from my...

starting a 22 gallon community tank ,thoughts?

Sounds great! I would suggest a bristlenose pleco.... they only get about 4 inches long. You could probably up the corys to 6 also. The dwarf gourami would like some floating cover. ... Real hornwort is very inexpensive and undemanding :) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

You could probably do 6 CPD's, depending on your filtration. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

    Help!

Have you tested your source water? It is possible that it contains nitrates. Also, if you have a betta in there, you need to do a large water change to get the ammonia down. That much ammonia is unsafe. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

You could probably do a few chili rasboras or celestial pearl danios. They are small schooling fish and look really neat. Have him check them out :) Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Black Molly is hiding from me!!

I would wait about 2 weeks since you introduced the most recent fish, just to make sure they weren't sick and don't infect anyone. You could definitely do a snail or 2.... I have Zebra Nerites in my 10 gallon tanks and they are great little algae cleaners. Is there a certain type of fish he is...

Black Molly is hiding from me!!

I can't really tell from the picture, but she definitely could be, especially if she is a female and was kept with males at the store. I remember the 3 platys and 2 glofish... is that the rest of what's in your tank? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
