Hello, I'm looking to change the filter on my tank as I currently have an internal corner filter but is like to change to an external filter to give my fish more space.
I have been looking at the canister filters, but I don't know if that's the most cost effective option as I've only got a 55...
I've attached this picture of him, sorry about the quality of it!
He has starting hiding all of the time and won't swim out into open water. He spends most of his time on the bottom behind the plastic plants with my Cory cats, I had to coax him out with the net to take this photo.
I'm getting...
Do you mean something like this....?
I bought this for my new betta tank a couple of weeks ago, it is only a cheap one but looks okay.... Am I supposed to put something else into this filter? It has two of those filter cartridges and a dense piece of sponge, I think it said that was to stop...
I have a 55 litre tank which I think is about 15 US gallons. At the moment I've got a male betta and two Corydoras. These are the fish that survived the uncycled tank distaster and I haven't added anymore as my water wasn't perfect quality but it's getting there!
In the next few weeks I'm going...
I understand about the bacteria etc, I made the mistake of adding fish to an uncycled tank when i first started keeping fish so I've had to do a lot of research in that area!
My filter has a sponge, it's a Cristal Profi i60 I think (not at home right now so can't double check)
Would it be a...
I have a male betta in my tank with my Cory cats (he's moving to his own tank as soon as it cycles as I've noticed a tiny bit of aggression toward my lovely cories! Anyway that's a whole other story)...
He keeps eating the sinking pellets that I put in the tank for the cories and his stomach...
My question about bettas...

Thanks for your help everyone :) I didn't think it would be a Julii as I read somewhere they are rare nowadays! Also does anyone know anything about male bettas? Or should I post a new thread?
Hello, I have attached a photo of my beautiful Cory and I was hoping someone could tell me what species it is. It was sold to me as a Julii but after doing some research I am confused as there are so many species that look similar! Thanks!
He does it voluntarily. He can get away if he wants to and the filter isn't sucking him in our anything like that. I just wondered if it was normal behaviour or if he was doing it as a result of some kind of stress! I'm glad he's not the only one that does it!
I bought my betta about 8 months ago believing that it was a female. Since then it has become beautifully coloured with lovely flowing fins so I now believe that "she" is a actually a "he".
In my tank I have a corner filter and my betta seems to like getting "stuck" to the water intake on the...
I bought a second hand tank and discovered that it leaked so I put a load of aquarium sealant on the joins and it is now perfect. If you're worried about getting leaks then maybe do this as a precautionary measure? The sealant was really cheap online, think I got mine on eBay with free delivery!
