they are one of the best algae eaters around, and sense thats there main diet in the wild they do a pretty good job. of course this is only from what i've read i dont really have any experience with them yet.
My betta does the same thing. i used to be worried he was hurting himself, but now it helps to know that someone else's betta does it too. my betta's top fin also looks a little bit chewed up looking. i used to think he had fin rot. but maybe it is just the filter. 8O
wow, i had no idea that shrimp didnt live long. Thats realy to bad because i have 2 in my 10 gallon and i am getting rather attched to them. plus i've already had them for a month.
i do fuss with my tank alot, i'll just sit and watch it sometimes but them there will be something that bothers me about it (like decorations, plants etc) and i'll begin to mess with it a bit, usually.
yes there are two sockets for the bulbs, they do look like the one in that picture, they do screw in and yeah together it would = 30 watts. will this be enough?
