Thanks! Any idea what kind of coral it is? My lfs had it marked as carnation, but as I look at it I'm not sure that it is.

    Sircastic's 55 gallon reef

Moved it to my sump when I did my weekend water change, now I can stack up the live rock on the left side for a pod hiding place!

    Hoping someone can identify this

I'm pretty sure it's not killing your star polyp, usually they are beneficial and a sign of a well established aquarium

    Sircastic's 55 gallon reef

Is there a benefit to having it in the sump? Or is it just aesthetic? I never thought of putting it under, but I just might do that!

    Sircastic's 55 gallon reef

Eventually i'll get another few pieces and remove that boat decoration in the right corner, and probably build up the left corner a little.

    Opinions on sump

Opinions on my sump? Currently I have my sump leading into media that is in a removable drawer, then that goes into another media on Styrofoam partially to reduce noise and for bacteria. That leads to some sponge and my skimmer, which is then piped over to my return that's covered by a sock...

    Sircastic's 55 gallon reef

Hi all, I have a few pictures of my 55 gallon reef aquarium. It's currently about 3 months old after cycling. It was a used tank, I got for about 100$ w/o live sand or rock. As for corals I have a sacrophyton coral, Duncan coral, and a zoa colony. Residing in the tank is 1 ocifeller clown, 1...

    Anybody have this light?

I have the 48-60" orbit marine, and i have to say i like it. It's adjustable, and comes with a built-in timer and different weather patterns. A little pricey, but i couldn't be happier. As for coral growing, my hairy mushroom and my yellow rock polyp seem to like it.

    ID crab!

It looks like a Gorilla crab to me, because of the black tipped claws. I can't see in the photo, is it hairy? if it is then it's definitely a Gorilla, and those are pest crabs!

Can i link canister filters together?

i have 2 Magnum 350 canister filters running on my 75g tank. I was wondering if i could link the two together. Like instead of two inputs and two outputs, one input and the output for one canister is the input for the other, then the output for the second flowing out at the other side of the...
