Rule of thumb for how many lbs of gravel is needed?
OK. Just makeit about 1 1/2" - 2" deep or so and you should be good. If you had a UGF you could go a bit deeper.- smb

African Fish Questions
They are freshwater from Lake Malawi. I would keep the water between 75-80 with a pH around 8. You have 2 very mean and aggressive fish there. Make sure to provide lots of rockwork. What size tank do you have? If it's big enough I would try and put a bunch of Mbunas in there or else...- smb

I always go by a pound and a half per gallon. Depends on if you have an undergravel filter or not also.- smb

It's always hard to say. There's no right or wrong answer as sometimes it works, others it doesn't. For the best chance for it to work, I would add 4 more Tiger Barbs so they don't nip at anyone else, especially the newcomer, and are schooling with each other and ignore anything else. Red...- smb
