    Copepods?

I have a 14gal biocube with a diamondback goby. I ordered copepods from ebay once a week for 2 months to give him something to snack on-he loves 'em. My chambers are filled with lr rubble and sponges, and the tank has about 18lbs lr now, & the pods have started sustaining themselves. I don't...

Pulsing Xenia looks wilted and discolored

I can't say I have any idea what it's doing, but I can share my experience with xenia. I bought a 4 inch flat rock covered in xenia stalks that "died" about 3 days after. (they looked withered and dark for those 3 days). About a week after, the rock started to sprout little lavendar "nubs"...

    Osc. Clown...possible marine ich?

Sorry I didn't get on yesterday. Set up the qt tank 10gal w/heater, and 20gal filter w/sponge only (sponge is an extra that stays in the chambers of the main tank-this is how I always seed qt tanks if needed-there are extra sponges in all of my tanks just for that purpose) Treating with Seachem...

    Osc. Clown...possible marine ich?

Ok, my male clown has salt-like specks on his head, but more like splotches on his body, and his gills are covered. It does not look like ich that I have experienced before, but doesn't have the gold tint that I've seen described with velvet, either. He is eating. He's not flashing (in fact, he...

new to saltwater new tank cleaning help

Did you keep the crushed coral that was in it at the store? That may be a source for the algae to have begun such a strong bloom, along with the water. One thing I found out the hard way, is that my water is horrible, and in no way ok for my sw tank. I have to by r/o water every week for my...

    Opinions

Panza: When I first got my 14gal biocube, I desperately wanted a mandarin. When I posted that on this site, I felt like the whole site just exploded at me. At first I was a pretty turned off-wondering what the big deal was, and why everyone seemed so angry about it. Over time (my tank hasn't...

DJLiquid: as a temporary solution to those of you who already have a mandarin, and can't yet find an lfs or friend with a more established tank to take it to, you can order live pods overnight on ebay, and liveaquaria.com This way you can take the time to find an lfs who will take it off your...

Clown Fish escaping 14 Gal Biocube.

the sponge that we have fits snugly against the lid, so there is no room...is there a gap between the lid and sponge? The way ours is set up, the clown would just bounce off the front of the sponge b/c the lid compresses it, blocking the top "crash landing pad" area. When we lift the lid, the...

    new stuff...

oh, i will! I'm just trying to decide what I'm going to shoot for...hard/soft/lps/sps...soooo much stuff. I am really wanting to do a reef community, so I guess my options are pretty open. I don't know if I want to do metal halides...I'm thinking of sticking with t5's...any advice? Like I...

    new stuff...

I told him what happened. He's given us so many good deals, on top of freebies, that I turned the store credit down. I know turning it down won't matter, b/c the next trip will be cheap anyway... The torch and hammer looked amazing in his tank--the polyps were fully extended (they never really...

Clown Fish escaping 14 Gal Biocube.

we fit in sponge to fill the top portion of each chamber, successfully blocking the clearance...they can't get over, so they can't get stuck. This doesn't hinder the water flow, and pods use it as hiding area as well.
