(Also, just a quick update for anyone reading this thread with a similar problem - My fry survived fine whilst I was away with no food, they were even bigger when I got back and looking healthy as ever :D )
They came in the gravel I used to seed my tank - but I do quite like them, plus they help keep the tank clean.
There's a mixture of ramhorn and malaysian trumpet snails in there - if that makes any difference xP
I'll be at home, able to check on the tank for the rest of today and tomorrow...
Oh! One last thing - my tank has a lot of small snails in it - if the medicine kills them could it cause an ammonia spike?
If that's the case, maybe I should wait til I'm back, so I can do water changes :S
(There's no way I'd be able to get them out of there either, they're all pretty small and...
So about 11 days ago, I noticed my platies (newly bought) were flashing against my filter and I thought I could see a small white dot on the tail of one of them and a little fuzzy white area just above the same fish's eye.
I read up all I could on the internet and figured it was most likely Ich...
I had the same problem with my cycling (finally finished cycling about 2 weeks ago after about two months of adding ammonia xP )
It really was just a matter of carrying on adding ammonia and waiting for me though - the nitrite went from off the charts to 0 overnight (literally, I was testing...
Yeah, I'll be getting one of those at some time after I get paid - but I don't have enough money to between now and christmas :c
So, you think the fry will be ok for 2 days without food?
Thankyou for your reply, but I don't understand how this would help with feeding them whilst I'm away? Unless - would they just get nutrients from the water in my established tank? c:
So one of my platies gave birth a couple of days ago (not exactly sure when) - I was expecting it at some point (I've got an all female tank but they weren't separated by sex at the store), but I've only had them a week and none of them really looked pregnant, let alone readyto give birth xP...
Thanks for the advice c:
Ahwell, suppose I'll just have to give up on the loach then, it's a shame 'cause I really love watching them eat (same with plecos, but found out long ago that they would grow waaay too big xP ), I'm guessing there's no other suitable species for me that have the same...
So, I've been reading up on stuff and planning to start up an aquarium for about a year now (I know, I'm so slow D; ) and I finally have a tank and a plan for what's going in it c:
It's still probably gonna be about a month before I start cycling, as I still need to get a stand, so I thought...
