I left my lights on just a bit to let my torch "stretch its legs" and it's come out completely and beautiful.

Flow is perfect. The water level of the entire tank is stable and has dropped las than it used to by now. Last week the salinity measured higher than usual. Just a touch, nothing I worried to much about but will remeasure all again at the end of this week. My zoas have EACH grown a new bud and...
So I've started to worry a little about my torch coral as its not as open or opening as much as it used to, could this just be from the black out?

This week I started turning on my lights for just two hours and in the end of that two hours I feed my torch brine shrimp as well as my one fish ( hopefully adding to the family once the tank is clearly stable again)

Is there anything else I can simply do to support the coralline algae?
So prior to this water change I used to religiously use Purple Up and use fuel to feed my corals, I have since then stopped using fuel and purple up. Would it be ok to start using purple up again or is there a better alternative? I've recently been using brine shrimp on my torch and Duncan coral...

I'm also still sticking with an all lights out at the moment just...
Great, actually! If anything my corals seem to more timid with life than ever before. My torch and zoas are all opened and beautiful. Everyone seems real happy with it. And the water is so clear. Will keep updating a week or two from now on params to show how it's going

I did he 100 percent water change yesterday. I took out all my rocks and scrubbed them in freshwater and used a toothbrush (a new one) and it got rid of most of the thick green areas. I've had the lights off ever since and haven't fed it. I'm getting an updated cleaner crew today to help go over...
Oh ok, best way to remove algae then would just be scrubbing then? Or is there another way to cleanse the rocks of this unholy algae

My LFS recommends the same, a total water change as well as some sand syphoning or rinsing. Also recommended a star fish, preferably a sand sifting one, or even a sea cucumber.
