My daughters named their minnows Flicky, Floaty, Rosemary, Rosemary (we can't tell them apart, so they get one name), Dragon and Bob. Bob used to be "Bob the Jerkfish" until the addition of Dragon to the tank put an end to his bullying.

I just "planted" a 10g for my daughters' room with some artificial ludwigia and swords. They complement the red chert blocks and green gravel (consider it verrrry artificial carpeting). Neither the girls nor the fish have any complaints.

Thank you for this thread--very informative, and it makes me feel less like an animal abuser for doing what I've been doing (successfully!) for several decades. The only topic where I find myself differing from a few of the other posters here is water changes. Rather than doing large changes...
