Same thing happened to me and my black molly. Exact same symptoms and everything. I deduced that the bioload was stressing her and that she didn't respond well to dramatic changes in the tank setup. I've lost no fish since I've left the tank alone and made sure to have fish in groups instead of...
Golden Dojo Loaches are definitely worth your money. They look cool and are very active given the right circumstances. They're not predatory but make for fantastic bottom dwellers.
I'm assuming this means he's okay. It's just I notice the pair is more active with their environment while the loner will often just gaze into the distance. As I type this though he's rummaging through the sand with them. I'm worried that he isn't getting a sense of community like he should
I have 3 peppered corys in a 20 gallon long with 5 platies and a small clown pleco. They all get along and everything looks good but I've been noticing some behavior that I'm unsure of from one of my little guys. Every now and then 2 of my corys will stick together and one will be the oddball...
Pardon my ignorance but this is my first time using the kit. It appears my water is less than ideal for my 5 platies and clown pleco but I'm not sure where to go from here. Is it time for a pwc or will I require more than just that?
These are good suggestions from what I've seen! Will I need an accompanying substrate such as topsoil or will the PFS work just fine? As yall can tell I'm new to this and in fact know very little about using CO2
20 gallon long, freshwater, PFS substrate
I have no experience with aquatic plants other than a bit of java moss because it's relatively easy to grow. But I'd like to install one that will fan out enough to take up a good chunk of space on one side of my tank. I've looked at java ferns but...
Well after some thought I find that my current front runner is the peppered cories (I can't afford adolfoi...) but let's say I wanted to add an albino to the team later on down the road. Would this work, or would it need a companion?
I do like the coloration of the emeralds but I don't want them to be too big. I especially like their tall dorsal fins so I'm hoping I can find that in a different type of cory.
Besides sizes, are there any major behavioural differences I should be aware about when selecting corys?
20 gallon long freshwater
PFS substrate
1 Dalmatian molly
3 red wag platies
*looking to add a small school of 5-6 zebra danios soon*
My main showcase will be the cories but I'm wondering what kind you guys who have experience think would best be suited for my tank. I'd like to get 3 of a kind
She's usually the life of the party but...
I did a 25% water change 3 hours ago and removed the uneaten food from the sand. About an hour after she laid in this corner and has since stayed there, doing nothing. My neon tetras swam by at one point and nudged at her and she just took the hit so...
Research. Research. Research. The more you inform yourself about the fish you plan to keep the more they will thrive. I know, it can be long and arduous but your son will appreciate it more to see his fish in happy conditions. Begin by researching along with him what primary fish he would like...
So I bought some feelers for my 20gal long tank which I'm converting to freshwater. It's one red wag molly (sex tbd), one mostly black Dalmatian molly (the biggest and a female) and one beautiful light orange balloon molly (male). They all like the tank and everything but I've noticed that the...
Sounds fair enough. Mine is set at a SG of 1.008 so it shouldn't be too bad. I was just worried that the salt would be permanently settled into the substrate. Lord knows I'm not washing that much sand again lol
