Ir might be a little extreme but if euthanasia is the other option I would take the fish out and see if you can open it yourself. Maybe treat him with a very light dose of cove oil to make him sleepy and then take him out and take a peek. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Aquarium Advice mobile app
