Hawkins, you sound like me. After 30yrs I'm trying live plants and its been along 5 months. At first I had algae, algae, and more algae. It's getting better. Different plants, lighting, lighting times, and CO2 injections. I'm not giving up being its something I've always wanted to try.

I just got an albino bristle nose pleco. Super cool and very active, and loves to take care of algae. I always had a pleco but with this 29g I wanted something that wouldn't get to big, the bristle nose grows 4-5in. Good luck

Hholly you are correct. I bought a 29 biocube and set it up for fresh about 3 months ago, algae algae algae! It has lights that are more suitable for salt and I'm replacing them in the next few days.

I just recently had to give a 4in male pearl gauramis to the lfs because my dwarf was tearing him apart. The dwarf would of killed him in just a few more days. The lfs and I where stunned that a fish 1/3 the pearls size was attacking him.
