    Just found a Bladder Snail

I love them in my tank! People consider them pests but I disagree. They only eat your plants if your tank has no algae or any other sort of decaying matter, fish food, etc. People mistakenly think they eat live plants - they'll only eat dying leaves - which is great for keeping your plants...

Ammonia & Nitrite Spike in Established Aquarium

So I tested it again today, seems like everything went back to normal. 0-0-2.5 amm-nitrite-nitrate. Maybe the prime is masking the problem right now, but I'm hoping it rights itself. Thanks for the responses guys :) Sent from my SM-G935V using Aquarium Advice mobile app

Ammonia & Nitrite Spike in Established Aquarium

I "cleaned out" the filter, by which I mean I squeezed the sponge into a bucket of tank water, and squeezed the prefilter sponge. That's all though.. Sent from my SM-G935V using Aquarium Advice mobile app

Ammonia & Nitrite Spike in Established Aquarium

I tested my tap last week. But the thing is, I'm pretty sure it can't be the tap. I use the same water for all my tanks - if it's happening to one, wouldn't it happen to them all? Or at least would be happening to my small ones. I have 2 2.5gal bare bottom tanks that are doing great.. with 2...

Cat, or kitten, with fish tank?

I have 2 cats, lots of tanks, some covered, some not. They don't seem to care whatsoever about the fish. All cats are different I guess is all I can say. Sent from my SM-G935V using Aquarium Advice mobile app

Ammonia & Nitrite Spike in Established Aquarium

Ammonia & Nitrite Spike in Established Aquarium Hi all, I'm a bit confused as to what's happening to my 10 gallon tank. Let me preface this by saying I have 6 tanks, have been fish keeping for 6 years and everything with my other tanks are peachy. It's my 10 gallon I use for breeding...

    Worms in shrimp tank..

Hi all, was wondering if I should be worried about these worms (?) In my shrimp tank. I noticed a few the other day, but tonight it looks like an army of them!!! If they're harmless, I don't mind. Just worried something nefarious may be going on. Looks like they're eating the algae on the glass...

Looking for input about plant issues.

Thanks for your input! Let me say, THANK YOU FOR THIS. I've been looking everywhere for this info. Does the glass top lower this significantly? It's just good to know it's medium light. Right where I want to be right now. I'll look into this - but if you're measuring for 250 days, wouldn't you...

Looking for input about plant issues.

Yes, I have looked into EI fert dosing, only briefly though. Cutting back the light will definitely be my first go to if algae gets out of control. So far so good though. Pressurized co2 is definitely in my future.. just not yet! It's all a bit over my head and expensive at the moment, but I'm...

Looking for input about plant issues.

I wish I had some money for pressurized CO2! I probably will somewhere down the road.. but not anytime soon. The DIY stuff isn't really for me either, too much trial and error on that front for my tastes. Good to know it's enough light. I guess I'll just have to wait and see after a couple more...

    Shrimp after fish meds question

Thanks for the reply! I waited 24 hours, switched out the carbon twice during this time to make sure it was all out. They went in fine, and are doing great! Sent from my SM-G935V using Aquarium Advice mobile app

Looking for input about plant issues.

https://imgur.com/a/Uj0Dk Hi all! Let me preface this by saying I'm totally new to the planted tank game. I have 6 other various tanks, ranging from 2.5 gallon to 75 gallons. Everything is cycled and well. My dive into plants is with my 20 gallon long. I'm having issues with my red ludwigia...

    Help IDing catfish

Thank you so much! That's him!! Apparently they like bloodworms a lot according to their care sheet. Just ordered some. Time to start feeding him insects after lights out! I'm surprised how robust he is just feeding on scraps for so long. I really just didn't know what to give him. Thanks...

    Help IDing catfish

https://imgur.com/gallery/VEMlr Hey all! Can anyone help me figure out what type of catfish I have? I've had him for about 3 years. I completely forgot what the guy at the LFS told me he was right after I got him. I've Googled images for catfish like him and can't figure it out. I see him...
