the water pulled out the air itself is fine, its when it sits as a volume of stagnent water. Any body of water will start to grow bacteria etc in it. This is wot the problem would be. We have special chemicals added to any large body of water at work to stop this.

well i have ordered a new test kit which should hoopefully arive tomorrow, as my test kit was old. although the itrates one is a serperate kit i have, I will re0-test my water when i get the test kit.
Although according to PFK my water is about 45ppm NitrAtes.
may i ask how long you have ur lights on for aswell. As to help reduce the algae buildup put and ours off time in the middle. sure someone will claryfy on this because algae needs a set length of time of light to produe, but i can't myself remember how long it is.
