I have my DP in a 5 gal with fake plants and rocks. He has a ghost shrimp and 2 otocinclus for housemates. He seems happy as far as I can tell.

I don't know about the rubbing but you do realize that the parrots will get really big right? You might need a bigger tank for all those fish.

I have some brass tetras and some pristella tetras. They are fun to watch in big schools.

What are the parameters in your water? Check PH, Ammonia, Nitrites, and Nitrates.

I might try the mirror thing and see if he/she flares. I bet it's a female. Of course, I bought a baby awhile back that was supposed to be a female and he is definitely a male. That's why he's in my 55 gal. Thanks for all the input on this. I'll see tonight what it does with the mirror...
