Does anyone know what this stuff is? Fungus, maybe?

If it's the type of white cotton like fungus from driftwood it's completely harmless and will go away soon.

Threadfin Acaras and a Tiger Oscar?

Are you going to start out with a little baby TO? I was at the LFS getting fish food and I always have to look at the fish while I'm there and they had the cutest little baby TO's. It's soo hard to believe mine was ever that small and cute. You won't regret getting one he's definitely the most...

Threadfin Acaras and a Tiger Oscar?

Yeah I think feeding them feeder fish makes them or any fish more aggressive. Mine has never been fed any feeder fish maybe this is why he's never ate any of his Tankmates. I've never tried earthworms but he's so picky I doubt he would eat it lol! Wow 18" that's huge mine is about 6 years old...

Have you put any driftwood in the tank recently?

Threadfin Acaras and a Tiger Oscar?

It may just depend on the Tiger Oscar. I've had my TO with many types of fish at one time or another with much smaller fish and never had any problems. He can be a bully and likes one side of the tank to himself but he's never ate any of my other fish however he's a very pick eater and usually...

My African Cichlid Pics From Today that IMO Didn't Turn Out So Bad. :)

Nice tank and fish! I really like your rock formations. I tried to do something like it in my tanks but I have large cichlids and they destroyed it kept knocking it down and over so I finally gave up. Unfortunately with tiger oscars they pretty much destroy everything in the tank lol!

    Sand or gravel?

Sand is better IMO. 1. It's easier to clean fish poo stays on top easy to vacuum with python while doing water changes. 2. I have mostly cichlids and they seem to like it better than the gravel. 3. IMO it looks better.

    Fin Rot or Aggression?

It shouldn't take too long to see good results in my opinion the very clean water helps the most just do your daily water changes like we said and you will see a noticeable change very soon. My tiger Oscar injured himself in his tank (he gets very rough sometimes) at night I can hear him...

    Fin Rot or Aggression?

I see what your saying but that's for regular maintenance your treating a sick or injured fish. So do what George9 said take out carbon from your filter if you have it and make sure and remove 25-30% of the water daily add prime before adding new water and then add the Melafix.
