For Sale: Tanakas Maple Leaf Guppies

I have a few pairs of Tanakas maple leaf guppies for sale. The little guys were developed by Kenjiro Tanaka in Osaka, Japan. Tanaka is known for guppies with subtle, and iridescent coloring. These maple leafs have a bright red line down their side with a smaller line of pink under it. There...

When using metricide you need to throw the liquid you add to the bottle away. I found out too late and killed off every fish in 4 tanks.

I agree, that's why I said nearly impossible. I'm setting up 4 new tanks and I'm going to try and keep it pest snail free. It'll be difficult because there are interlopers in the substrate I'm reusing. But it should be a challenge.

I agree with brookster. You have to carefully choose the fish for your. I've noticed that brookster and I have a lot in common, but we communicate what we know differently.

It's nearly impossible to have a planted tank and not have pond snails. I've even found blue and red ramshorn snails that hitched a ride on a plant order or there were eggs. A low number is ok, but their numbers can explode in the right conditions. But this is besides the point. I just like...

You can mix and match cleaners. Some people love their shrimp. I like chain loaches, pygmy corys, mystery snails and otos. I also have a favorite pleco, long finned blue eyed bushynose. I'm kinda in the same spot you are in. Except I'm having to redo 4 tanks because I needed to move them to...

    For Sale: Blonde Endlers

The solitary one is a black bar. I forgot I had the other examples. The only problem with them is there are at least 2 guppy/endler hybrids. Endlers usually have top or bottom swords. Roundtails and speartails are a guppy trait.

Here are the orchid and blue star. I'll post the other two in a few minutes. I also have orange line endlers.

I did say broad general descriptions with exceptions. Overall choice is a personal preference. As you said, there is no symbiosis. My community tank is completely different than when I originally set it up.

Or make your community fit your favorite fish. You will have many favorites so don't sweat it.

I haven't read all the responses so sorry if I bring up something someone else did. I would start with your clean up crew. You really need them in place before you add other fish. Your cleaning crew can consist of catfish, plecos, snails, shrimp, and loaches. Each does something different...

    For Sale: Blonde Endlers

I believe all female endlers have no markings unlike guppies. Blonde females are gold and can be 3 times larger than males. I can't keep any of my orchid, black bar, blue star or el Silverados in tanks next to each other because the females all look like each other. I can't risk a female...

They do school. But it's not very tight. There is a lot of mating behaviors going on, even with just males in a tank.

    For Sale: Blonde Endlers

$10 for 3 males. Same as a trio. For some reason endlers are more striking in a group of just males.
