help led lighting for saltwater reef tank

You will find that most of the cheap LED fixture skimp on the components inside. Some may be made with CREE but if they are not made with high quality waterproof drivers, sealed circiutry and/or gasketing you will not see the investment you made come out. I lit a 20long with 2 of the Orphek...

    flea fogging today

Sevin dust is available in a big bag at Walmart for about 8-10 dollars. I forgot all about that. Sevin dust is also safe to sprinkle on your pets too. I am going to go for this one. I am in Indiana too so I am facing the same temp and environment issues as you......

    flea fogging today

I don't recommend the fogging at all with your tank in there.... We are having a hard time of it this year here in Indiana too..... Been using the walmart brand Pet Armor and have an aerosol can for the carpets and especially where the dog sleeps and bath once per week. You couldn't make me...

    T5HO overpowering MH Lights

this is a very good link and it is important that we talk about spectrographs too. PAR can easily be fooled by blue LED. Up the blue. up the PAR. Bad for your tank if it's not the right spectrum and you can only get that from a spectrograph. Many of the companys out there are using white that...

    Switching from MH to LED

I am an avid fan of the LED lighting for both FW and Reef tanks. The look, the temps and the electrical savings are all pluses in my book. I have been very happy with the LEDs that I have over my reef and the growth has been as good or better than before.
