Ok so I have removed my shrimp from the tank & have performed my water change to lower my nitrates but apparently not enough. I did not do a very large water change only about 8 gallons so my nitrates seemed to have went down about half from 20 to about 10. I would like to do one more to get it...

I too found out I was doing my Nitrate test wrong. Found out I was not shaking bottle #2 enough or at all lol. I performed all my tests correctly yesterday & ammonia is about 0 , nitrite is at 2.0 & nitrates at 40 ppm. It's been 11 days since I started the cycle process.
