I understand most young/new pairs are more uptight so you got the first part (laying eggs) take your time they will do you right!!!

Can you pull the eggs and raise them without the pair? Then have breeding stock that are aclimated to your way and conditions of doing things. I don't know but sounds like conditions aren't prime. Good luck and good breeding!!! PS I mean to say conditions just off abit.

Jason, My salt setup is 60gal 2 30gal plumbed into a diy rubbermaid tub running 20+gal sump with a low bioload, so I don't know the rule but I see most running around 1/3 total water volume in their filters so the more volume you get in there the better (Filter) and your question no they don't...

Hey Jason, I don't see why not, how about using bioballs or another bio media in sump and live rock in tank. May I ask what size is your DT? When I thought about it, it sounds like a open top canister filter, interested in what you come up with. Good Luck! PS pics please.

I feel you, in a pinch I take a small net put a little frozen brine shrimp and flake in and rub the flake and shrimp through the net into a cup of water rinse net in that water, makes a cloudy mix at least good until you can get some baby brine.
