API Test Kit: which way is correct ?

When testing for Nitrate, the instruction says that The tube should be viewed against the white area beside the color chart. If I put the tube on the white area touching the card, The color is close to read 20ppm, but if I leave a little space between the tube and the card, it would read 10ppm...

    Bloody red LR

Hello morgan24, I am glad to hear that the unit is working OK, I was a little reluctant to buy it afraid that it would not be any good since I saw all the RO/DI units sold at LFS are in the price range around $200 and up.

The Cyano is only on the LR, no where else.... With the lights out, I can see the Cyano starts getting off the LR now, I think it's SLOWLY working. I'll leave the lights out maybe for another week. I also tested for po4 this morning, it also dropped down to .5 ( 2 ppm before) As mentioned...

I only paid $39.99 + Tax for it, so it's roughly $43. I am from the Bay Area (San Francisco). This is the only place that I find the prices are reasonable, some other place wants $60 for it

OK, I got the Phosban Reactor, it's been in the sump for couple of days now, I hope it will reduce the phosphate level to 0 ppm. Lights off since last posted except when feeding. Roka64, I finally decided to get another unit, it costs $115 but it has dual outputs (for both drinking, Aquarium...

Yes, you are completely right, I did add B-Ionic Calcium buffer, trying to get Coral Algae to grow. That leads to another question: How do I lower the Calcium level to 400 - 420 ppm ??? Since DI Add-On Kit cost $50, I was looking at the whole RO/DI unit on EBAY...

Wet & Dry Filter - How does it work ???

Thank You LoganJ and FishFreak. I have been feeding them 2, 3 times a day and yes, I will cut back to once a day. Another thing I forgot to ask is: My tank was completely cycled at one point ie. Ammonia=0, Nitrite=0, Nitrate=0 then my Blue Tang got cloudy eyes and ich. I was advised by LFS...
