the shrimp won (pleco is new and still very shy) so I gave the pleco some on the other side of the tank :D

At feeding time tonight I had a tug o war between a baby pleco and a shrimp

I tried it I tried one in my female guppy tank. Everyones playing nice after a week :D but of coarse YMMV. also has some albino cat's and algae eating shrimp.

I've been reading that you should shoot for 5700K for plants. :D

30 x 12½ x 18 and the big thing is the stand can take the LBs. You don't want your great find landing on the floor when the stand is crushed. But for 30$ go for it! I think the evil wall-mart has a 29 gal stand for cheep

Most LFS will let you bring your plecos back when they get to big and give you a new baby :D

One note about online buying, if you need to return anything it can be a big problem. If you have a retail store in your area thats competitive you might want to think about them. Just a pointer (based on my experience)
