I have three in my room. Two on a stand and one on the desk. 5 gallon is on the desk and 20 and 10 are on the stands. Mom says no to any elsewhere in the house. Too much work for nothing. Apparently I'm the only one that has an interest in fish.
Hey everyone! Injust joined this site because I always found it very helpful. :) I own multiple freshwatr aquariums from 5-55 gallons. I have had everyhing from goldfish to oscars. I currently own:

Try freezing some distilled water. Then break it off in chunks and float them in the tank. Works for me. Or you could take regular ice cubes and float them in a plastic bag.
Try some danios. I have 8 harlequin danios in my 160l. They are very active and love schooling around. Or you could try some neon tetras as they are very flashy.

I say about 40 gallon is the minimum but of course larger in better. Just keep in mind that they get over a foot. Mine is 8 in at the moment. Had him for a month best thing ever! So cute when they dart around the tank.

My neon tetras lose their colors when the lights are off too. It's just because they cant reflect off of the lights when they are off. Also maybe the colors disappear as a way of camouflage. So they don't get caught by predators while they rest. I think it's just instinct. That's...
