I've had cherry shrimp with high light co2 and EI. No problems as of yet. No breeding as of yet either. I have found that my bolivian rams really think snails and shrimp are quite tasty though!
I stopped using it about 2 months ago. The only thing i have noticed is that when I pour freshwater in during water changes i tend to get a whiff of that fishy smell. If you've ever smelled it you know what I mean.
Those are what I call "air roots". Most stem plants have them. It should also root at the bottom. You can trim them if you like. I've noticed some are more noticable than others anachris tends to have thick white ones while some plants like ludwigia repens has darker thinner "air roots"
Ok here's my 2 cents. For one the wpg theory i think is only a guideline. Tank size definitely makes a difference! I also wonder about outside light. I know even with my light off my tank gets some indirect sunlight vs some people who have tanks in there basements.
As far as glosso goes...
Ok so it's all rescaped. I tried to hide more of the equipment. Went pressurized last week woohoo! I can tell this is definitely gonna mean more trimmings. Cabomba grows out of the tank in a week!
What do you guys think?
Well, you could do blackouts or just wait for it to clear up. I had green water for 3 months one time drove me crazy. After I corrected my water parameters it still was very stuborn. Bought a uv sterelizer 1 day and i had crystal clear water!
Ok, so I figured out the spraybar thing and moved it to vertically sit in the corner. The CO2 reactor is a real pain though. Hopefully I'll be going pressurized in april and i can try something different.
Yeah, I could never have a camera on my tank that I could get to on the net. I would never get anything done at work!
Your tank is looking good. Can't wait to watch it fill in.
That's some great information. Thanks everybody. Maybe I should start dosing KH2PO4 again to try to get some more color out if my Ludwigia Repens.
Strange that my phosphate levels went down when I stopped dosing though. I am slowy earning a distaste for flake food though wonder if that might...
Greg Watson is definitely the place to go!
100 - 125 Gallon Aquarium
+/- 1 1/2 tsp KN03 3x a week
+/- ½ tsp KH2P04 3x a week
+/- ½ tsp K2S04 3x a week
+/- ½ tsp (30ml) Trace 3x a week
50% weekly water change
Check out EI light...
I've heard bad things about high phosphate levels. Considering K2S04 is 55.1% sulfate(which i guess is a phosphate?) would that not put the phosphates into a toxic level?
I stopped dosing K2S04 about 2 months ago while fighting a green water problem and high phosphates in tap water putting it...
Well unfortunatly the spray bar will not fit on the side of the tank. That's why i was asking about replacements.
Travis. I checked out that link, looks like that could be the answer to my problems. Do you know what the differnce is between the starter system and a expansion kit?
I could...
I invested in a coralife turbotwist about 2 months ago to cure a green water problem. It went from pea green soup to crystal clear in about 2 days! I leave it off now and only turn it on when I introduce new fish.
The UV rays actually do not kill anything that passes through it but actually...
