    Probably gonna be flamed on by this but I have talked to several people you use WELL water in their reef setups with 0 issues. I used my well water in previous freshwater setups with 0 algae problems so yes I am using it for my new SW setup. I wouldnt recommend tap water if on city water.

    Are they always grey in color? I spotted a small red one in my tank the other day. I know it hitchhiked in on some live rock I got to help seed some base rock

    Yes. It comes in a cardboard can similar to Comet. BKF is also a powder.

    i usually lay the aquarium on whichever side im cleaning and then pour vinegar to cover that glass pane and leave it overnight. Then scrap it with a razor blade. If that doesnt work bar keepers friends will loosen it up too.

    Is the shrimp still in there? Once ammonia went up to 4 ppm you coukdve pukked the remaining shrimp out.

    I have never had any algae problems or anything like that with my well water. What kinda tests would I need to do on my well water to see if it would be ok in a reef tank?
