On a very similar note, I'm thinking of getting either an Eheim Professional II Model 2028 or an Eheim Wet/Dry System Model 2229-- I can't afford both :( My goldfish are getting bigger and messier! Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

I've had a Visi-Therm Deluxe Heater (50 watt) in a 12 gallon (MarineLand) tank for all of about 10 months. Yesterday afternoon, I found that my 1 Otocinclus had died overnight. I scooped the poor fellah out, but had to leave the house for a couple of hours before I could look into the problem...
