Hello! Im new to angelfish breeding i do it purely as a hobby. I ran into a pair accidentally after my 2 favourite angelfish randomly spawned after about 10 months. I have heard of it taking up to 5 or 6 spawns before they get it right but my fish seem to be perfectly up to the task and had...
Definately for freshwater too. Its like making a giant canister filter inside an extra fish tank. You see fish stores running a bunch of tanks off the same one. Having an overflow on your main tank helps so you dont have to match intake and outake flows, you get whatever flow the pump you put in...
My angelfish pair just dropped their 2nd lot of eggs while their last lot are still swimming around with them ( about 3-4 weeks old). Is there an issue with having both growing up in the same tank? My main concern is the parents will neglect the new batch. So far fertilisation has been very...
Id be fine with a couple as 'centrepieces'. But buy them small, you will probably have to upgrade your tank when they get bigger. Others might tell you not to at all. if getting angels i would buy 2. From experience whenever i have kept them in odd numbers the one that is left out or by itself...
I want to do a complete change of my gravel with sand (probably pool filter sand) in a tank that is already established with about 13 fish and is planted.
Any tips on the safest/ most efficient way to do this without harming my fish or plants and avoiding any disturbance in the stability of my...
Just went down to one of my locals in a routine visit to see what they had. Turns out they had gotten in some dwarf neon balloon rams. Have seen many rams before but not neons. They are amazing!
They intended on putting them in their display tank and would not be for sale but they were not...
Theres a tub out the back that filled up with rain water and now has mosquito larvae in it. Are they safe to feed to my fish? Im thinking no but thought i might as well ask.
Had a similar problem with an angel in my current tank when a new fish was added. It was solved literally within 20 minutes of adding another angel. As soon as it had another angel to stick with it instantly left everything else alone. Almost like it was bullying cos it had nothing else to do...
Yes i know what you mean. Are they blind? They share the bottom of my tank with a bristlenose and run into it all the time lol the bristlenose doesnt seem to enjoy it very much either.
What do you feed them? So far mine go nuts for algae wafers.
He is at least double the size of mine by the looks of it. And i have to agree with you on this one, maybe we are lucky i dont know but mine have plenty of places to hide and are still more than happy to come out to play about half of the time :)
Not 100% because i havnt searched around that much for them and need to do more research but at the moment i am interested in electric yellow labs, convicts, blue zebras and tropheus duboisi.
