Thanks for the ID...looks like I will keep him around. I fed him some minced shrimp last night...and he readily ate it...then I got nervous he could eat the tank inhabitants. Looks like he should be safe enough. He has been hinding under and behind the rock until last night.
Thanks for the...
I received this anenome with my Tampabay Saltwater liverock order. Does anyone know what kind of anenome this is?? Is it good or bad to have around?? Thanks!
Steve
Any idea what kind of pod this is?? Good or Bad?? I have taken 3 out of the tank so far. This one was the biggest at 3/4 of a inch. Was doing a great job in the sandbed moving it around.
Thanks
The same EXACT thing happened to me 2 years ago. Damn Aptasia!
My other Peppermints never seemed to develop a taste for my Aptasia, but 2 bottles of "Joe's Juice" worked great!

I gave away of all my freshwater fish from my Planted 90 Gallon tank. I never did well with the planted aspect. My 40 Gallon SW tank has been a HUGE success. It was in my office...and more people who came to visit always migrated to the messy office to oogle at the tank. I finally convinced...
I am currently cycling my 90 Gallon with 200lbs of Argaramax Sugar Sized and 60 lbs of Dry Base Rock from Reeferrocks.com. I have 3 shrimp in there as my source of ammonia.
I am thinking about actually buying Live Sand. I know that the sand will become live over time, but I really want a good...
Oceanvisions background is a great background those people who want a great looking black (or other solid color) background, which is not permanent....but stays on until you want to take it off. It is like a window sticker for the back of the tank. Check out info here...
I like to cycle with just a sandbed and Dry Base Rock using the raw shrimp. Then I add the Live Rock....and sometimes I have a small cycle...sometimes no cycle at all...depending on the LR die-off. This way I do not subject any life on the LR to really high ammonia or nitrite levels...and...
I am converting a FW 90 Gallon tank into a SW Reef tank and creating a Sump based on the famous RLG2182 Design:

I am doing this in a 30 gallon (36x12x16) tank. I have a ASM G2 Skimmer which works best at 6-10 inches of water...so I am going...
If you are daring...you can see what was done here with supporting the tank with some wood brace, and removing the center brace, inserting the sump, and replacing it:

P.S. I am NOT that daring
The coralife 125 looks like it a little too tall to fit in my sump under the tank....I have heard good things about it...and you can't beat the price!!!
Looking for one a little smaller....
...any suggestions?
Steve
I have everything chosen for my 90 Gallon Reef....except for the Skimmer.
So many to choose from....from cheap to outragous prices. My limit is around $250.
I have seen locally the Amiracle and Pro-Clear Venturi...anyone ever use any of these?? They look okay...but are they loud in a house...
I have lost my dearest fish today. Lenny the Blenny. He was a Lawnmower Blenny that I had for nearly a year. He was a very happy and healthy fish. Was loved by the family. Here is a excerpt from my wife's Blog about Lenny:
