Female Guppies most always have a visible gravid spot. It does get dark and grow during pregnancy. Depending on how they are adapted to the current conditions, they can be very selective in when they actually bear fry. You might not see anything for months, or it might only be days. Crazy fish.
I agree cz. If you all havent used CO2 yet, I'll bet you will be very surprised at the results when you do. You wont even be able to compare using CO2 to a standalone fert. anymore.
If you dont want the temperature swings, then use a heater and set it for atound the highest temps your tank will see during the day. I dont know about you, but I would die if it got 82 degrees inside my house on a daily basis. Yikes!
It certainly can, but it depends on the composition of the shells. You'd have to try it on your own. Crushed coral isnt usually that hard to find though.
I have to agree with everyone else...trying to alter the pH with chemicals is a waste of time and money. Even if you found a product that...

I'm going to try the Kodak EasyShare Z740 for a while. It seemed to have excellent reviews for a camera in that budget range and it seems to be taking good pics for me so far. I've had it less than 24 hours but it seems to be an easy camera to operate. The manual settings will make it more...
I wouldnt be overly concerned about the tannins as they shouldnt do any harm to things, other than look ugly. I do wonder what the wood was treated with...you said it was pre-treated. Does this mean chemically?
If its just a ten gallon tank, I'd just empty it and boil the gravel. No nasty chemicals, or time spent rinsing and rinsing and rinsing. If you use bleach or anything else, your still going to have to tear it all down and do tons of rinsing. I use a large stock pot for boiling items in, but the...
