I have had what looms like brown algae for what seems like months now. Wveey water change I brush the decor and rock but by end of week its brown again. Its been like this for months. Here are water specs before last water change. Ph 8.2 ammonia 1.5 nitrite 0 nitrate 20

I have some rock that is now turning brown. It was used in a saltwater but spent two or so years dry. All of a sudden the tops of all it is brown. Is this algae? If so how do I correct it? I plan on getting a pleco as my tank isnt fully stocked yet anyway.

Right now I have a 40 breeder with 2 yellow labs one "marmelade" peacock and one "blue hap". Least thats how the lfs was selling em. They are all small around 2 inches. Id like to add an upside cat and a bn pleco and then add about 7 or so more small peackcocks. Will this work?
