    Feather Duster Problem

I have put some cubes of algae into the tank at feeding time but I guess I should put some Nori or lettuce for it to graze on. I don't see anything else besides the Tang that could have caused it. I will try to take care of it tomorrow.

    Feather Duster Problem

Well, I lost the Feather today. :( It lost the radioles and then it just started to slowly crawl out of its tube. Why? My other Dusters are fine and I don't overfeed them. My water parameters look good. Is it possible that my Yellow Tang that occasionally nips at it caused it to go? I don't...

    Contradictory Test results

Ok all, how do you resolve this? I test my water parameters with the Hagen made test kits. When I decided to test the results against a Marsdel test kit, I'm getting 2 different results which are not even close! (One says my Nitrate is 5PPM, the other says 40PPM!!!) I did just lose a Feather...

    Feather Duster Problem

If a Feather Duster leaves it's tube, is it doomed or is there still some hope? Can I do anything for it or should I leave it be? ALso, what would cause it to leave its tube? My water conditions are good and my other 7 dusters are doing fine. Thanks!

    FIghting Tangs?

Hello, I think that your tang will be fine. M understanding is that unless you have a large tank(100 gal+), you should only have one tang in the tank. However, if you chose to get another tang, you have to make sure that it has a different body shape than the Yellow Tang otherwise they will...

    Started today

Get the temp stable from somewhere between 78-80 degrees. I keep mine at that range. The S.G. should be 1.02-1.025. If you are going fish only, you can keep it at the lower end but higher for a reef tank. The PH should be at 8.1-8.3 and tha salt mix you use should be it to the correct level. I...

Chocolate chip starfish - what does he eat?

Yes, I have also heard that this species of starfish is not for a reef tank. Go with a Brittle Star or Sea Serpent. I have a Sea Serpent and every morning when I feed the fish and inverts, he come crawling out at 15 mph! :o

    good fish for a beginner

I agree that the Clownfish is a good choice. They are my first fish in the tank and the pair is still going strong. I do suggest that you get them in pairs. Seems easier on them that way.
