Description: The 2nd canister filter in Fluval's 06 series is quite an improvement. The priming pump actually works-i only had to pump it 6 times before the filter filled up via siphon. It has new lift and lock clamps, which seem no different than the 05s' clamps, other than color. The whole filter has a new color scheme. The media baskets inside are the same as the 05s' too. I have it on a 20 gallon long tank, I don't think it would be very good on a tank any bigger because it has a flow rate or 206 GPH (ironic, right?). Hagen's costumer service is awesome. I called for help on installation because when installed, mine wouldn't start. After some time on the phone, the problem was fixed. I would recommend this to anyone. I got it on sale from Amazon.com for $59.99

Before to go any further with this, lets take a moment to have a look to the all new LED Submersible Moonlight. It comes with a low voltage transformer with output adjustment knob for brightness control and 2 meter long flexible silicone power cord. It can be mounted anywhere above or in the tank itself with a suction cup. Designed to work for nano tanks and up to 3 feet tanks. Dimensions: Height: 8 in Width: 4 in Depth: 2 in Weight: 0.55 lb My review: I was looking for moonlight for a little 5 gallon reef tank and a 25 gallon reef tank. This new product was fairly cheap ($55 on sale at $29) so I bought one for the little tank and two for the other tank. As soon as I got home with the new toys, I immediately installed them on the tanks and waited for the night. At 11pm, the day lights turned off and realized my mistake. Instead of creating a diffuse blue light all over the tanks, it create some little laser lights (not bright at all) that goes through the water. I thought two as simply not enough for a 25 gallon tank so I tried them all on the 5 gallon tank and got the same bad results. That was terrible so I decided to donate the moonlights to a friend who finally gave them back to me. I have paid $90 for the 3 moonlights so I decided to use them on the 5 gallon tank but one of the bulb burned after only 3 months. Description: Pros: Adjustable flow rate, large filter media area, replacement parts are abundant. Does its job very well on my 30g long. Cons: Compared to my AquaTech 5-15 filter (see my other review) this one is quite noisy. It is not bad if your tank is in a room other than your bedroom. Overall: After researching HOB filters extensively, it seems like this is the most cost effective and efficient filter.

I purchased for 234.99+tax and also the modern good looking stand for it which was $112. Pros sleek and good looking system. Wet dry is simple if u decided to use it. Cons THE HOOD IS NOT HINGED!!! what where they thinking? that's is like having car hood not hinged. it's hard to do any maintence that require acessing anything toward the back. overall 3.7/5 rating. I would buy it again.

Description: The Fluval 304 is a great canister filter. It operates silently and has 3 layers of baskets along with a sponge filter. You have lots of options for media with this filter. It did require quite a bit of assembly but I am very happy with it overall. It is also easy to clean with its quick disconnect hoses.

Filter media use can therefore be tailored to the aquarists needs. The media included as standard comprises of: CR ceramic filter rings, biological filter foam, BB bio filter balls, CF activated carbon, and FF filter floss. All models are self-primining, and come with lengthy intake and output hoses which can be cut to length. The inflow and output pipes inside the aquarium can also be adjusted to fit as necessary.
