Description: Keep your tank looking beautiful and the water healthy. This filter cartridge, which fits Top Fin and Whisper filters, includes a sponge that will provide enhanced biological filtration for the protection of your fish. Each cartridge provides three levels of filtration: biological, mechanical and chemical. The BIO 3 Filter Sponge provides a surface for beneficial bacteria that convert harmful waste products such as ammonia and nitrites into harmless compounds. Filter Floss strains out suspended particles. Activated Carbon absorbs undesirable chlorine, odors and restores water clarity while Zeolite helps neutralize ammonia. The Small Bio 3 Cartridge fits Top Fin and Whisper 10 Filters and In-Tank Filters. The Large Bio 3 Cartridge fits Top Fin and Whisper 20, 30, 40 and 60 size Filters.

Pros: Great for ammonia control
Cons: Do need to be replaced a little more often

The only reason this didn't get a 10 is the fact that they DO need to be replaced a little more often then the basic filter cartridges.

The BIO 3 cartridge fits the Top Fin power Filter 10 & 15. They have an added media in them that the basic filter doesn't have. They have a substance called "Zeolite" that helps to eliminate ammonia...If you have an ammonia spike for an unknown reason, these work wonders with getting the spike under control

55g cycled. 15g sump, refugium, lr rubble, mag 7, Maxi-Jet 1200. 36lbs, 20# keys 20# gulf to arrive on Wensday!

Pros: Easy to Change
Cons: Not enough media to do anything with. Cost to much for what you get, have to purchase 2 packs for the double filter systems to get the plastic hangers.Very thin sponge!!

I purchased this product at PetSmart to go with my TopFin60 Filter system. I used it about a week and was not pleased with the results. I took the whole filter system back including this media and exchanged it for a Aqua Clear 110/500. So far this has been one of my better decisions for my Aquarium. I dont feel that this Media has enough media to do anything. The carbon and the other two pack are so small that there is not much in there. Also the are expensive when you consider you have to buy 2 of them for the TopFin60 to get the plastic hangers. So buy the time you buy the Topfin60 (40.00) and the Bio-Filters (16.00) you could put another 20.00 and buy a good filter at PetSmart or you could order an AquaClear online and save money.
