Description: Aquariums up to 45 gallons. These filters are uniquely designed with 3 intake vents to provide maxium efficiency. These versatile filters may be used for biological, chemical, or mechanical filtration depending on the media chosen for the filter. Use as the primary filter or as a back-up. Great for breeding tanks, isolation/hospital tanks, or for beginner aquarists. Airstone included.

Pros: Inexpensive, great flow, good aeration
Cons: tends to float a bit

for a small breeding tank or QT, this filter is great. You get good water flow through the filter, gentle currents in the tank that fry can handle, and adequate aeration too. Easy to set up, tear down, clean and maintain. If the circulation is too much for your fry, you can use a non airstone corner filter. but if your fry can handle it, or its a QT, this one is better than a non-airstone corner filter (Ex: Lee's economy filter). weigh it down with marbles if needed, or use a heater suction cup to pin it to the corner, or bury its stand in the gravel, since it tends to float

Pros: Price, usability in a power outage
Cons: bulky

I keep a few of these on hand because I live in the hurricane belt. Add a battery powered air pump and you have filtration when the power is out. Excellent, under-rated product.
